2) More and more harems have their roots in eroges than ever before. In these games, sex is the reward. Anime is just following suit. Maybe fans now expect the gratification.
Of course, not all shows choose to be raunchy. Clannad thinks it actually has a touching and funny story to focus on. It might’ve been right; the lead there actually had some personality.
I am appreciating this reset button. It’s more like the game experience would be, I suppose. Hell, anything’s better than those ambiguous endings you always get in 90% of harem anime.
